studio 10 : dale shutt
dyes on silk, acrylic on canvas, petals on paper

Dale Shutt is a visual artist living on Ile-du-Grand-Calumet, in the Ottawa River, 80 km north west of Ottawa/Gatineau. Her mediums are painting on silk, acrylic and pen and ink. She is a founding member of the Pontiac Artists' Association and the Pontiac School of the Arts. In 2004 she illustrated the book Trap Axe and Plough, The Settlement of the Pontiac. Dale's work is influenced by the sights and colours that surround her where she lives and works. She likes to take the leap from what her eyes see around her to what her imagination tells her can be seen.

This year will be Dale's 19th year participating in the Pontiac Artists' Studio Tour. I look forward to welcoming you to my Island Studio.
