Studio 11 : Geraldine Classen
oil, acrylic, mixed media

I came to Canada in 1966 from England. I have studied art and painted for most of my life.

My work has been sold and exhibited both in group and solo shows in several countries. I now spend my summers in Canada and winters in Mexico.  I am an active member of the art associations in both communities.  My work is a reflection of both cultures.

I love the colour and texture of oil and make use of many 'found objects' recycling them onto my collages. I also use photo transfer to express my interest in the changes that occur with the passage of time on both people and their environment.

In 2006 I was featured on Regional Contact and I had a solo exhibit 'Abandoned in the Pontiac' at the Casino gallery.

2007- 2008 my work was on view at the Ottawa Art Gallery.

2009 I exhibited at the Centro Culural in Chapala Mexico and my work was selected for exhibition at Number 4 in Ajijic as well as at the Cultural Centre there in spring 2010.

Throughout the summer, visit my 'Art Barn' and the Stone School
Gallery in Portage du Fort, Q.C.
