studio 5 : janis schock pulley “The paintings I love the most are the ones that seem to paint themselves and I just enjoy the ride, these works I call “Gifts from God”. I have learned to “just let go” and believe - when I take care of the quantity, He takes care of the quality.” Watercolour is Janis Schock Pulley’s favourite medium; her influences are her family, her faith and the familiar environment that surrounds her. The fundamental purpose of her art is to “touch the soul” by evoking a pleasant memory of time, place or feeling. Janis works of art vary from bold to delicate but the nature of her paintings always remains mellow and seemingly spiritual. She is a member of the Pontiac Artists Studio Tour and her artworks have been on display at the NAC Tulip Festival, The Atrium (Centrepointe), Ottawa City Hall, Bells Corners Clothesline Fair, Gilmour House (Ottawa), Maniwaki and several venues in the Pontiac. Janis’ artwork graces collections in New Zealand, England, USA, Switzerland and across Canada. In May 2008, Janis opened an art studio and frame shop in Shawville, QC; sharing space with Impressions – A Place for Art. You may visit her studio, the gallery, or frame shop during her regular working hours (10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.) Contact/studio information: 84 Johnson Road |
