Larry Evans was born in Saskatchewan, but has lived most of his life in Ontario. Just recently he moved to the Pontiac township of Quebec where his wife was born and raised.

In his early life, he worked as mechanical designer in the Ottawa high-tech industries. In between jobs, he developed his artistic skills. In the last five years he has been painting full time. Most of his subject matter is the rural landscapes of the Pontiac.

Most people viewing his work consider it to be unique. Each painting is heavily textured, almost 3D. The colour treatment is reminiscent of the impressionists, with the “scattering“ effect.
