Again 2007 brought change into my life, but then again what is that saying ‘change is good’. I’ve been launched back into the work force, not entirely because I wanted to, but because I had to. My daughter Hilary graduated from Ottawa University with a BA in linguistics and my son Jeff is finishing CEGEP and off to university.

I still manage to escape to my studio, still discovering and absorbing anything I can learn about painting techniques. Funny but I think I can now recognize my brush stroke, that has been something I’ve searched and have finally found, and I like it.

That friend of mine who a year ago told me, ‘’You always go back to what is natural for you’’… Her words have made me explore bigger canvases, brighter colour and I truly have evolved. I’ve discovered that I enjoy working with big brushes, lots of color, lots of movement, flowing lines that lead your eye from one corner to the other.

My work is energizing me, feeding my inspiration, I no longer search for that perfect image, I paint what I see, what I know.

I still paint in watercolor and acrylics, and sometimes both. I am sketching constantly and painting en plein air when I can. Sometimes I hear a painting calling me, speaking and urging me to paint, paint, paint!

I love my studio it has become my space, my haven. I am excited about my new paintings, love welcoming guests into my space and I’m still reaching for the stars.
